Showcase: Stirlings Jewellers and Stirlings Heritage

Victorian Arcade is a fantastic shopping destination in the heart of Walsall, offering a broad selection of specialist independent retailers under one roof.  One such example is Stirlings Jewellers, a business with a rich history and a well-earned reputation for providing customers with quality fine jewellery and a friendly service they can trust:

The history of Stirlings Jewellers

Stirlings is a traditional family-run business, through and through.  First established in Park Street in 1893 by John Stirling, in the early 1900′s the business made the short move to the Victorian Arcade where it still stands today.

Stirlings Jewellers stayed in the family until John Stirling's daughter retired in 1936 and John Parker, known as "The Chief", bought the business.

Parker built upon the established foundations of trust and quality and the business flourished in the post-war era.  When John Parker retired in 1984, Chris Bissell, a long-term employee who had worked in the shop since 1964, bought the business and maintained the tradition of being family-run, by employing his wife, son and sister.

Chris Bissell retired in 2008, selling the business to Gordon Allen, an established jeweller hailing from the Birmingham Jewellery Quarter.  Not only has the Allen family been in the jewellery trade for 6 generations but they also continued the Stirlings' tradition: working with Gordon Allen are his two sons, Bradley and Brent.

Stirlings is renowned for traditional values and experienced and friendly service in a comfortable well-stocked modern showroom.

Quality jewellery and diversity of choice

The Allen family and staff maintain the highest level of customer satisfaction through professional advice coupled with an extensive selection of fine quality jewellery, both new and pre-owned.

Stirlings Jewellers offers a huge selection of quality rings, earrings, bracelets and bangles, necklaces and pendants, watches, brooches and cufflinks in silver, gold and platinum to suit all tastes and budgets.

If customers are unable to find just the right piece then Stirlings will happily source something from their vast bank of industry contacts.  In addition, customers can bring items of jewellery in for repair and alteration, along with watch repairs and battery replacement.

A bespoke design

As jewellery experts, Stirlings also offers a bespoke 'design and make' service, to create unique pieces to customers' own design specifications, for special occasions such as engagements, weddings or special anniversaries. This work is undertaken by Brent Allen, the talented resident jeweller. From initial drawings and selection of metals and stones through to the final production, clients are involved and informed at every stage until their one-off jewellery has been carefully crafted.

Stirlings Heritage and sourcing service

The most recent innovation for the business is Stirlings Heritage, which offers vintage and pre-loved jewellery and quality designer watches, including prestigious Rolex, Omega, Cartier and Breitling brands.

In addition, Stirlings Heritage also provides the option for customers to sell their unwanted or broken gold and silver items at competitive prices and customers can bring their items in for a realistic appraisal with no obligation.
